Clean

Remove any foliage or leaves from the lower part of the stems that would be submerged in water.  This helps prevent the growth of bacteria in the water.

Cut

Trim the stems at a 45-degree angle. This increases the surface area for water absorption, allowing the flowers to take in more nutrients and stay fresh longer.

Placement

Place the flowers in a location away from direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can cause them to wilt. Choose a cool spot to extend their freshness.

Aftercare

As individual flowers start to wilt, remove them from the arrangement. Lightly mist the petals of the flowers with water to hydrate them, especially in dry environments.
